Rod Building … A.SAVA

SOS … Contamination!

Written on June 9, 2012 at 6:31 pm, by

In the past 2 days the intimacy of my epoxy is constantly violated by something I wasn’t used to. I am invaded by vinegar flies, as they are known. It seems that the epoxy is just as good as vinegar or fruits for these tiny little creatures, at least in it’s liquid state. Yesterday, on  ..continue reading »

Who Makes the Blanks for Megabass or Evergreen?

Written on April 5, 2012 at 6:25 pm, by

A lot of people question this. And until now it might have been a very well kept secret, but not anymore… At least not since the Phenix K2 have appeared on the market. Don’t you even dare think that Phenix is building fishing rod blanks for Megabass… Even Phenix builds it’s blanks in overseas factories,  ..continue reading »

Finesse Casting Rod for Soxy in the Making

Written on March 3, 2012 at 6:00 pm, by

Slowly but surely the Soxy project is being finished. The rod’s reel seat has arrived, an Andrew’s Fishing Tackle flat face reel seat. I’ve shortened it’s “quick lock” foregrip by 2cm (approximately 1′). And shortened the reel seats front by the same length. It seemed a tad to large for this finesse deal.   This  ..continue reading »

SOXY and the Spool :)

Written on January 30, 2012 at 5:23 pm, by

I got my spool today from the post office. An original Pixy spool.  I’m as happy as I can be. There still is the matter of filling up the space between the spool margins and the reel’s margins for the original spool, which was a few millimetres wider. I’ll soon get my spacers and will  ..continue reading »

Blog opening – on river Mures, here in Arad, Romania

Written on January 9, 2012 at 7:55 pm, by

As Razvan sais. We had to get out to get some fresh air into our lungs, and eliminate tome overdue toxins accumulated in the recently passed holiday season. I barely made it out, considering I was sure I wouldn’t catch anything, so I delayed my escapade until 14 o’ clock. Razvan was already fishing for  ..continue reading »

After a few attempts I finally managed to get it started. A.Sava Custom is both a showcase and a rodbuilding blog, custom rods, and other custom and fishing related stuff. It’s the first blog in Romania, from which people will be able to learn, and find inspiration. As much as I’ll be able, I’ll answer  ..continue reading »
